meet OUR FOUNDER
Thriving Botanicals was started by Joanne Rush in 2016. Thriving Botanicals is a family-owned and operated business located in Houston, Texas. They specialize in the design, maintenance, and rental of interior plants as well as floral design. In 2017, they expanded their service areas to include Austin, San Antonio & Dallas. In 2019, Thriving Botanicals began offering Holiday Design and Rental services.
Joanne was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She began her love of gardening at a young age. You could often find her working in the garden with her parents or creating floral arrangements from her mother’s extensive collection of plants and flowers. Her family taught her the importance of honesty, a hard work ethic, and a can-do attitude. Joanne decided to pressure her love for plants at Kansas State University. In 2010, she received her Bachelor of Science in Horticulture with a specialization in Landscape Design.
During her years at Kansas State, she met her husband Ryan, who was also pursuing his degree in Horticulture, Landscape Design. With a shared love of plants, they are a perfect match for one another. In 2015, the Rush family moved to Houston and within a year, Joanne opened up Thriving Botanicals. Joanne brings with her over 15 years of industry experience. Her experience includes areas of greenhouse production, design & maintenance, living walls, floral design, arbor care, and irrigation.
She loves working with her customers to create stunning, eye-catching green environments. When working with Thriving Botanicals you can expect reliable, trustworthy, and creative service. The team at Thriving Botanicals is excited to work with you to create the space people only wish they had.
