2025: A Year of Growth, Creativity, and Unforgettable Events

2025 was a year of incredible growth and learning here at Thriving Botanicals. We were honored to be part of so many unique and exciting events, and what better way to showcase them than with a look back at some of our favorites from the year!

Kicking Off the Year with Cactus Jack

We started the year strong with Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Softball Tournament, a three-part event that challenged our team to design and transform completely different spaces.

-TXRX: We created a custom moss wall featuring the Cactus Jack logo, paired with lush cactus and succulent arrangements. By combining standout plant material with furniture rentals, we transformed the space into a bold and immersive environment.

-Post Oak: Our team designed a living wall, three seating areas, and styled the bar and DJ space. Hoya totems and pencil cactus gave the room a striking, modern feel.

-Daikin Park: For the final event, we transformed the Diamond Club into a vibrant, interactive space filled with statement furniture, jaw-dropping plants, and fan-favorite games. Safe to say, we knocked this one out of the park.

SXSW Energy & March Madness

March was nonstop. SXSW in Austin kicked things off with activations all across the city. We were proud to partner with Alaska Airlines, Axios House, Sips & Sounds Music Festival, and more. SXSW remains one of our favorite events thanks to the incredible brands and creative collaborations it brings together.

Later in March, college basketball took over Texas, and San Antonio showed up in true Texas-sized fashion. Turner Sports transformed an entire venue into a beautiful and captivating space, while Adidas, Marriott Bonvoy, and Capital One brought impressive activations that we were thrilled to support.

Spring Highlights

April brought beautiful Texas weather and the return of the Chevron LPGA Championship. We were excited to partner with this event again, providing florals and plants, some of which even made it onto TV!

In May, our Event Team traveled to sunny California to support BottleRock and La Onda Music Festival in Napa. This marked our second year providing plants for these festivals, and once again, the experience was both inspiring and rewarding.

Summer Heat, Big Wins

Texas heat didn’t slow us down in July when Major League Soccer came to Austin’s Q2 Stadium. Our team supported multiple activations throughout the city, bringing fun and tropical vibes to each space.

August brought a special event in Houston: AI Savoring Summer. This stunning event allowed us to showcase our tropical favorites, with majesty palms and bird of paradise stealing the show.

A Busy Fall Season

September marked the start of our busiest season, with multiple events happening simultaneously. Highlights included:

  • Troutman Pepper Locke: A stunning living wall that truly stood out with plants that made the event look and feel perfect!

  • ConnectED: We designed six distinct plant-filled areas within the San Antonio Convention Center, each with its own unique look and feel.

October kept the momentum going. Austin City Limits, one of our favorite events, returned for its third year with Thriving Botanicals. Building on what we learned in previous years, we created beautiful, durable plant designs that held up across both weekends.

Later in October, Formula 1 arrived in Austin. We supported activations across Circuit of the Americas, including the Sports Illustrated Club, which featured foxtail palms outdoors and rhapis, dracaena tarzan, and areca palms indoors. We also partnered with American Express, Apple, and McLaren for their F1 activations.

Closing the Year Strong

November brought one of our team’s favorite events of the year: The Astros Gala. Our owner and lead creative designer, Joanne Rush, began planning the design months in advance. Highlights included a custom champagne wall with guest-accessible holders, a walkable silent auction created using movable walls, and breathtaking table florals featuring real orchids. Every detail was thoughtfully executed to bring Joanne’s vision to life.

December wrapped up the year with festive events like Light Up the Park, where we showcased our ability to provide holiday décor in addition to plants. We also supported The Running Event in San Antonio, completing five activations, our favorite being ASICS Shoes, where we built a custom 12-foot living wall with shelving to display their latest running shoes.

Looking Ahead

2025 was a year filled with learning, creativity, and unforgettable moments. At Thriving Botanicals, we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, stunning plant designs, and the ability to bring our clients’ visions to life. We’re more than a plant rental company—we go above and beyond to make each event truly special.

We’re incredibly grateful for our amazing clients and can’t wait to bring even more innovative designs and products to events in 2026.
